A thirteen episode third season of Colony was announced in April 2017; The new season airs on May 2nd, 2018. It was filmed in Vancouver from Sept 07 to Feb 19 2018.[1]
The third season of COLONY begins six months after the Bowmans’ escape from the Los Angeles bloc as Will (Josh Holloway) and Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) struggle to rebuild their family in the world beyond the walls. When their peaceful existence is shattered, they are sent on an odyssey that will finally reveal the horrifying truth behind Earth’s mysterious occupiers and once again force our heroes to choose sides.
What We Know So Far[]
- There will be 13 episodes, Season 3 will air in 2018.[2]
- Sarah Wayne Callies has directed episode 9 of Season 3; it's called "The Big Empty" and is written by Carlos Rios.[3]
- Production is moving to Vancouver, the show didn't get the tax credit from the California Film Commission[2]
- Carlton Cuse wants Toby Huss to return as Bob Burke, there are some scheduling conflicts to resolve though. [4]
- We find out why Will wasn't killed by the drone in S02E12.[5]
- Season 3 seems to be mostly about four characters, Katie and Will Bowman, Snyder and Broussard[6], though that's not the whole story.[5]

- Elise Gatien will be starring as a character named Meadow for 4 episodes.
- Wayne Brady will be recurring as a character named Everett Kynes.
- Graham McTavish is cast as Andrew MacGregor, an internet conspiracy theorist who runs a resistance camp in the California woodlands and holds a secret agenda.
- John Hoogenakker is cast as Scott Garland, a former FBI Agent turned Security Directorate Lieutenant tracking the Bowman family to the Resistance Stronghold.
- Peyton List is cast as Amy Leonard, a former doctor whom Broussard encountered wandering the abandoned LA Colony.
- USA announced on July 25th that Colony was canceled after three seasons.
